What Is Level Up?
Level Up: Math Skills is a daily drop-in math hour where kids and teens strengthen their number skills through games, challenges, and real-world problems.
Many kids understand math concepts, but their number skills aren’t automatic yet.
Level Up helps build speed and confidence with numbers through practice, games, and repetition.
Students are welcome to bring their current math assignments if they want help or a place to work through them.
For students who want an extra challenge, the optional Level Up progression system lets them earn wristbands as they master practical math skills.
The $10 → $100 Challenge
Students who want to participate in the optional Level Up challenge can register for $10.
The challenge is simple:
Use math skills to turn that $10 into $100 of real value.
Students might do this in practical ways such as:
- earning money through small jobs or selling something
- saving money by finding better deals while shopping
- helping identify subscriptions or expenses the family no longer uses
- comparing prices to choose better options at the store
- finding creative ways to solve problems using things they already have
How the Wristbands Work
Students who register for the Level Up challenge receive:
- Entry into the $10 → $100 challenge
- A white silicone starting wristband
- A place on the Level Up progression path
As students strengthen their math skills, they earn new colored wristbands.
Each band represents another level of practical math ability.
Students keep every band they earn. They can stack them on their wrists to show their progress or simply wear their latest level.
Math shouldn't just stay on paper.
It should lead to real-world results.
Level Progression
Collaborative Practice
Students are encouraged to practice together.
Some work through challenges side by side. Others flip flash cards or talk through problems.
Explaining math to someone else is one of the fastest ways to strengthen understanding and build confidence.
Bring Your Math
Students are welcome to bring their current math assignments or curriculum.
The time can be used to:
- work through school math problems
- ask questions they are stuck on
- practice skills from their curriculum
Students can simply drop in and practice math.
The Level Up challenge and wristbands are an optional way to track progress.

Optional $10 registration for the Level Up challenge
Kids 13+ may be dropped off.
Younger kids should have a parent present.
Parents are welcome to stay, relax, or work while their kids participate.
Food and drinks are available inside Nexus.
How This Fits Into Cannon Castle
Cannon Castle is an experimental learning community in Waco where kids, teens, and young adults practice real-world skills together.
Our long-term goal is to help people "Live More Dreams" by strengthening four core abilities:
- Love Yourself
- Help People
- Master Money
- Serve God
Each Cannon Castle gathering gives kids a place to practice these skills in everyday ways.
Level Up focuses on building strong number skills — one of the foundations of mastering money and making good decisions in real life.
Right now Cannon Castle is growing slowly through weekly community gatherings.
These events give families a chance to meet, try new ideas, and help shape what the future community becomes.
